Member of the Year
Det.
Karrina Brasser, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office,
who is currently assigned to the DEA task force was the
2007 KNOA Member of the Year. Det. Brasser received a
$500 gift certificate to OMB Police Supply.
Each year at the annual training
conference in March, the Kansas Narcotics Officers
Association recognizes a “Member of the Year” for
outstanding activity, case investigation, or performance
in the previous calendar year. This person may be
nominated by their supervisor, Chief, Sheriff, or a
member of KNOA. The nominee may be a law enforcement
official or prosecutor but must be a member of KNOA.
An award nomination should be
filled out for each nominee and include a synopsis of
the event(s) for which the person is being nominated, as
well as any supporting newspaper clippings, letters of
recognition etc. The selection will be based solely on
the packet which is submitted so please be thorough and
detailed. NOMINATION FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE LAST
FRIDAY IN JANUARY PRIOR TO THE CONFERENCE TO BE
CONSIDERED.
The “Member of the Year” will be
selected by the KNOA Executive Board and will receive
notification prior to the conference in an invitation to
attend the awards banquet with their family or guest.
Upon presentation of the award, a KNOA press release
will be sent to the nominee’s jurisdiction notifying
them of the state wide recognition.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
2008 Scholarship Recipients
Jessica Ryann Daily, daughter of John R.
Daily, BelAire Police Chief and Barbara Daily,
Sedgwick County 911 Supervisor received a $500
scholarship. Ms. Daily is a senior at Campus High
School and plans on attending Wichita State
University.
Melissa K. Bartlett, daughter of Sgt. Robert
Bartlett, Butler County Sheriff’s Office and Kim
Bartlett also received a $500 scholarship. Ms.
Bartlett is a senior at Remington High School and
plans on attending Fort Hays State University.
KNOA conducts a Scholarship Awards
Program each year in which scholarship(s) are awarded to
children and grandchildren of active KNOA members in
good standing for the past three (3) consecutive years.
Nominees for these scholarships must be graduating
seniors. Scholarships will be awarded to individuals
based on such factors as academic achievement, school
and community involvement, and special achievements.
